Kara Ball is the Philanthropy and Community Engagement Coordinator for Baby Health, where she leads fundraising, donor engagement, community partnerships, grant development, and strategic communications to improve access to healthcare for children and families. With extensive nonprofit leadership experience spanning healthcare, addiction recovery, and community development, Kara is passionate about building meaningful relationships and creating sustainable solutions for vulnerable populations. She is dedicated to strengthening communities through strategic philanthropy, collaboration, and compassionate leadership.

Shannon completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Kentucky in 2013

Dr. Young serves as our medical director and has volunteered at Baby Health for over 30 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

Lisa has been with Baby Health since 2019. Before joining Baby Health, she practiced as an Emergency Department nurse for 10 years.

Dr. Emily Messerli has worked part-time at Baby Health service since 2018. Prior to this she was an advanced practice provider at University Health Services at UKY.

Lindsay completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at University of Kentucky in 2022. She is board certified by Pediatric Nursing Certifying Board as a pediatric primary care nurse practitioner.

Courtney joined the Baby Health team in March 2022. She graduated from the National Healthcareer Association in 2014 with her CCMA.

April has been at Baby Health for 15 years. She graduated with her ADN from St. Catherine College in 2014 and has over 20 years of experience with primary care.

Mette plays a critical role on our team and manages the behind-the scenes-work in our clinic. She works hard to ensure that all our patients requiring specialty care are referred to the appropriate places.
